The story of Tom Brady itself is amazing. A guy picked #199 in the draft who then gets the starting position after Drew Bledsoe got injured, and winning his first NFL title that year. A Cinderella story, no question.

However, after two more titles, this might be the biggest season for him, considering that the Patriots might not be favored by the NFL Betting Odds, taking into consideration how the New York Jets and the Miami Dolphins have strengthened their teams in the past moths.

Tom Brady and the Pats are coming off a disappointing season where they were eliminated in the Wild Card round after a beating by the Baltimore Ravens.

But it was not only that. Despite that Brady’s stats was really good, he and the Pats disappointed in big games last season.

Brady had a great game against the Colts and his rival Peyton Manning, but a silly call by coach Bill Belichick blew the game up.

Then against the Saints in a highly anticipated Monday night, they were crushed by the unbelievable offense of New Orleans, where Brady also made a lot of mistakes, including some crucial ones.

They looked horrible in that game and against the Ravens in the Wild Card playoff game.

That’s why I think he needs to come back stronger this season to remind everyone that he is still a top tier quarterback in the league.

Brady has been criticized for not training in the off season in Boston, as the critiques are mostly disapproving of his work ethics and his lack of commitment to his team.

Remember that the Pats and Brady had that ludicrous 2007 season were they crushed everybody. Well, people say he will never be near to that performance again, so I think he needs to come back big this year to prove them wrong.

Keep in mind that the Jets are the favorites in the AFC East right now, and Miami has Brandon Marshall who is a great playmaker. The Pats must establish quickly if they are for real this season or not.

On a typical warm weekend night, Times Square teems with visitors: theater fans taking a post-show stroll down Broadway; tourists staying in high-rise hotels; suburban teenagers who gather to gawk at the jumbo-sized neon signs that fill the square with light.

But when the police noticed white smoke billowing from a dark-green Nissan Pathfinder on 45th Street near Seventh Avenue, and then discovered the makings of a crude car bomb inside, the normal hubbub was replaced by a different sort of spectacle.

Late Thursday night, the Dolphins were finally on the clock after trading down from pick 12 to pick 28. Among those still available were Sergio Kindle and Jerry Hughes, two athletic outside linebackers who would fill a huge need on their roster.

Then the pick was announced…Jared Odrick, defensive tackle, Penn State.

Surprise and disappointment seemed to be the consensus feelings amongst Dolphin fans. But when you put aside the idea of drafting for need, it isn’t hard to understand why this front office selected this versatile defensive lineman from Penn State.

South Park Creators Warned by Islamic Extremists – The South park creators Stone and Parker did it again! And this time, their lives seem to be on the line. Well I’m just exagherating a bit. But just recently, a group of Islamic extremists from New York known as the “Revolution Muslim” took things bitterly after seeing last week’s episode of South Park, where Mohammad was implied that he was wearing a bear suit in the video. This was considered blasphemous by the Islamic extremists.

The police are continuously searching for the suspects of the reported home invasion in Tinley Park. A boy called the police around four in the morning reporting that there were unknown armed men in their home located in the 9100 block of Basswood Drive.

The police saw one f the suspects in an act of assaulting a male resident through the windows of the invaded house. The police entered into the scene and the suspects, who were believed to be at least four African-Americans, scampered across the house and broke out through the windows and doors. One suspect was caught while trying to enter a vehicle.

So many things could have gone wrong with a documentary about the Buddha’s life – and it is so difficult to get it right too (viz. Bertolucci’s “Little Buddha“) – that you cannot but applaud David Grubin’s fine film.

Personally, what I enjoyed the most was the music. It conveyed a mood that is just right for understanding some of the core elements of Buddhism – equanimity, compassion, kindness. There were many well-chosen snippets from eloquent but also very “real” and “present” speakers (my favourite, besides His Holiness the Dalai Lama, was Mark Epstein).
